Join us for the next edition of our City Hiking Series as we explore one of the most scenic waterfront routes connecting Ottawa and Gatineau.
This hike is part of our ongoing series focused on exploring the green spaces that already exist within the city — the pathways, parks, waterfront routes, and outdoor areas that are often overlooked in everyday life.
So often, when we think about hiking or spending time outdoors, we think we need to leave the city entirely. Through this series, we want to highlight that Ottawa and Gatineau are filled with walkable, scenic, and nature-filled spaces worth exploring.

Urban hike: Tulip Trail
Join us for a scenic social urban hike through some of Ottawa’s most beautiful waterfront views. This beginner-friendly community walk is designed to encourage movement, connection, fresh air, and time outdoors while exploring the Dow’s Lake area together.
Our route will begin at the Dominion Arboretum and continue along the scenic waterfront pathway through Dow’s Lake and the Commissioners Park area. While the Canadian Tulip Festival has officially ended, this route still offers beautiful views, greenery, and a relaxing outdoor atmosphere perfect for a weekend reset.
Whether you’re coming solo, with a friend, or looking to meet new people, this hike is a great opportunity to connect with community while enjoying Ottawa’s outdoor spaces.

As we close Black History Month, Women of Colour Remake Wellness invites you to embody the theme we’ve been reflecting on all month: Rest Resistance.
Throughout February, we explored how rest for Black women is not passive, indulgent, or something to be earned. It is a deliberate practice of care, boundary-setting, and reclamation in a world that often demands constant productivity, strength, and endurance from us.
This closing Lagree Method class is an invitation to approach movement with intention rather than intensity.
While Lagree is often associated with pushing and performance, this practice will emphasize slow, controlled movement, mindful transitions, and deep body awareness. The focus is not on burning out, proving strength, or striving for perfection but on presence, breath, and listening to what your body needs in the moment.
This session is about:
Honouring rest within movement
Releasing the pressure to push past your limits
Moving with care, control, and self-trust
Closing the month grounded, supported, and connected

Come learn the basics of ice skating with us! Get ready to glide on the ice like a pro!
Join us for a fun and welcoming morning on the ice! Whether you’re a total beginner or just looking to boost your winter confidence, this event is all about community, connection, and enjoying the Skateway together.
What’s Included:
Free Skate Rentals: Available for those who need them!
Guided Support: We’ll help you with lacing up, finding your balance, and basic techniques (starting, stopping, and turning).
Safety Tips: Learn how to stay balanced and step off the ice with confidence.
Bringing Your Own Gear? You are more than welcome to bring your own skates and helmet! We encourage bringing your own helmet if you have one, as our supply is limited.
Meeting Point (Mandatory for All): We will be meeting in front of the Canal Ritz (375 Queen Elizabeth Dr) for skate distribution before heading onto the ice together.

Hosted by Women of Colour Remake Wellness (WOCRW) and Ashley Owusu-Ansah, in partnership with SoulSpeak Studio and Uppliva Nordic Spa, this immersive experience invites you to slow down, move with intention, and pour back into yourself after a full summer season.
We’ll begin with a 60-minute hot Pilates session led by Ashley Owusu-Ansah , a grounding yet energizing flow designed to help you sweat, stretch, and realign. After class, we’ll take a mindful walk over to Moo Shu Ice Cream for a sweet little treat on us 🍦 before heading to Uppliva Spa, where you’ll unwind through the spa’s restorative thermal and hydrotherapy circuit, guided by Ashley and the Uppliva team.
This isn’t just a workout and spa day it’s a collective reset. A space to nurture body, mind, and spirit while connecting with other women who share similar cultural experiences and values of holistic well-being.

WoCRW Climb Night: Bouldering
Climb, Connect, and Empower: An Inclusive Bouldering Session for BIPOC Women
Join us for an exciting and inclusive indoor climbing session designed specifically for BIPOC women of all skill levels! This is a fantastic opportunity to climb, connect, and meet others in a supportive and welcoming environment.
What We’ll Be Doing: Bouldering
Our focus for the evening is bouldering. Bouldering is a dynamic form of rock climbing performed on shorter walls (typically 10 to 15 feet high) without the use of ropes or harnesses. Instead, climbers rely on thick, padded mats for safety when descending. Bouldering is a mental and physical challenge that is excellent for building technique, balance, and core strength, making it a great entry point into the world of climbing!
Guidance from an Expert
We are thrilled to have experienced boulder climber Biatris Lasu walking us through the "how-to." Biatris will be available to offer guidance, demonstrate techniques, and share tips, ensuring a safe and successful session for everyone.
Open to All Skill Levels
Whether you’re a beginner who’s never touched a wall or an experienced climber, this event is open to all. You’ll have the chance to challenge yourself, try something new, and enjoy the company of other women in the community. Come out, climb, make new connections, and have fun!
Important Information
Waivers are Mandatory: All participants must sign the WOCRW 2025 Liability Form and the Altitude Gym Participation Agreement prior to attending the event.
Shoe Rental: The cost of the event does not include climbing shoe rental. If you do not have your own, shoe rentals will be available at the gym for an additional fee of $6.50 (please confirm this price with the gym).
