This 45-minute session blends Pilates, strength, and cardio into one energizing, low-impact workout designed to help you reset before the holiday rush takes over.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of movement, mindfulness, and luxury self-care created by and for the BIPOC community. Hosted by Women of Colour Remake Wellness (WOCRW) and Ashley Owusu-Ansah, in partnership with SoulSpeak Studio and Uppliva Nordic Spa, this immersive experience invites you to slow down, move with intention, and pour back into yourself after a full summer season.
We’ll begin with a 60-minute hot Pilates session led by Ashley Owusu-Ansah , a grounding yet energizing flow designed to help you sweat, stretch, and realign. After class, we’ll take a mindful walk over to Moo Shu Ice Cream for a sweet little treat on us 🍦 before heading to Uppliva Spa, where you’ll unwind through the spa’s restorative thermal and hydrotherapy circuit, guided by Ashley and the Uppliva team.
This isn’t just a workout and spa day it’s a collective reset. A space to nurture body, mind, and spirit while connecting with other women who share similar cultural experiences and values of holistic well-being.

Enjoy a sweet treat and connect with other participants. Take this time to chat, cool down, and soak in the post-class glow before heading to the spa.
6:30 PM – 9:00 PM | Uppliva Spa Experience
Indulge in 2.5 hours of pure relaxation through Uppliva’s Nordic Circuit, featuring saunas, hot and cold baths, and rain showers. Guided by Ashley and the Uppliva team, this portion of the evening will help you unwind completely and reset your energy.

WoCRW Climb Night: Bouldering
Climb, Connect, and Empower: An Inclusive Bouldering Session for BIPOC Women
Join us for an exciting and inclusive indoor climbing session designed specifically for BIPOC women of all skill levels! This is a fantastic opportunity to climb, connect, and meet others in a supportive and welcoming environment.
What We’ll Be Doing: Bouldering
Our focus for the evening is bouldering. Bouldering is a dynamic form of rock climbing performed on shorter walls (typically 10 to 15 feet high) without the use of ropes or harnesses. Instead, climbers rely on thick, padded mats for safety when descending. Bouldering is a mental and physical challenge that is excellent for building technique, balance, and core strength, making it a great entry point into the world of climbing!
Guidance from an Expert
We are thrilled to have experienced boulder climber Biatris Lasu walking us through the "how-to." Biatris will be available to offer guidance, demonstrate techniques, and share tips, ensuring a safe and successful session for everyone.
Open to All Skill Levels
Whether you’re a beginner who’s never touched a wall or an experienced climber, this event is open to all. You’ll have the chance to challenge yourself, try something new, and enjoy the company of other women in the community. Come out, climb, make new connections, and have fun!
Important Information
Waivers are Mandatory: All participants must sign the WOCRW 2025 Liability Form and the Altitude Gym Participation Agreement prior to attending the event.
Shoe Rental: The cost of the event does not include climbing shoe rental. If you do not have your own, shoe rentals will be available at the gym for an additional fee of $6.50 (please confirm this price with the gym).

Class Overview: The spin class will be led by Christine Acejo, Whether you're a seasoned spinner or new to the world of cycling, this class is open to all fitness levels. Christine will guide you through 45 mins of heart-pumping, fun, and motivational spin, designed to get your body moving and your spirits high.

We understand that it can be challenging to find a safe and inclusive space to practice Pilates, which is why we have created this session to provide a welcoming environment where participants can connect with others who share similar experiences. The session provides an introduction to Pilates and is suitable for all levels. It's a great way to try something new, improve your physical health, and meet new people.

This event is ideal for anyone interested in trying out cross country skiing for the first time, or for folks who still consider themselves total beginners. We will be providing the gear and the know-how so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure.
All XC Ski gear will be provided by Kanata Nordic Ski Club. You will need to let us know your height, weight, and shoe size as soon as possible after registering so we can make sure that we have your size available!
The instructor will show us how to:
Put on our ski gear
Get up from the ground if we've fallen
Ski with and without poles
go up and down small hills (maybe- if we're feeling brave)
Then, we'll head off on the trial and practice what we’ve learned. We'll close the event with some refreshment and light snacks in the chalet.
This is a kids friendly event, so bring the kids or the whole family :)

This session is specifically designed for individuals who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or a person of color). We understand that it can be challenging to find a safe and inclusive space to practice Pilates, which is why we have created this session to provide a welcoming environment where participants can connect with others who share similar experiences. The session provides an introduction to Pilates and is suitable for all levels. It's a great way to try something new, improve your physical health, and meet new people.
Our class is led by a certified instructor with experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. You can expect a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable exploring the movements of Pilates.
We welcome individuals of all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Our class will focus on building core strength, toning muscles, and improving flexibility. We'll also incorporate mindfulness and relaxation techniques to help you feel refreshed and energized.

Later in the month, we laced up our skates for an Intro to Ice Skating on the Rideau Canal. Some of us were gliding effortlessly, while others (patiently) found our balance. But the best part? The joy of simply being together, proving that wellness isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, trying new things, and having fun along the way.

Arrive, settle in, and enjoy a warm welcome with light refreshments. Ease into the afternoon as you meet fellow participants and prepare for an inspiring journey of wellness.
💪 1:00 PM - Movement Session #1: Strength & Sculpt
Start your retreat with a 60-minute, all-levels strength training class led by Katherine Markhauser, owner and trainer at Chelsea Athletica. Experience her signature Tone class to engage your muscles, release tension, and feel empowered.
🔥 2:00 PM - Movement Session #2: Core & Burn
Continue the afternoon with a 45-minute Burn class—a low-impact mat Pilates session guided by Katherine. Focus on building core stability, glute strength, and upper body endurance, leaving you feeling strong and invigorated.
🍏 3:00 - 4:00 PM - Nourishing Snacks & Social Hour
